I am fortunate to live on the north coast of NSW, only a few minutes drive from some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. It is easy to become hypnotized by the beauty of the waves, forming amazing shapes as they break along the shoreline.
In an effort to capture this beauty I have been experimenting with long exposure photography. The images in this collection were achieved by putting my camera on a tripod, and leaving the aperture open as I moved the camera in the direction of the breaking waves.
This is a very unpredictable approach to capturing an image, with less than 1 in around 100 images worth keeping. A good lesson in patience, and going with the flow!
